Time to Build a Mountain

The Big Question:  Does the way a mountain is built affect how slowly or rapidly water will erode the mountain?

As a member of this team, you will use the provided earth materials to construct a mountain that will withstand erosion from running water better than the mountains constructed by other teams in your class.  Before you begin, take some time to review the materials and to formulate a plan that suits all members of your team.  Be sure that every member of the team is a contributor and that everyone's ideas are heard.

After each group has created its mountain, we will view the effects of erosion at each table.  Use the chart given to you to take notes of the results at each table, including your own.  This data will be used by each individual to answer the BIG QUESTION in a notebook reflection.
