We have concluded our work with nouns and proper nouns! This month we will be exploring the colorful world of adjectives! We will be focusing on the use of adjectives in sentences and using them to "jazz-up" our journal entries! We will learn how the descriptive power of adjectives can transform our writing into a more interesting, descriptive work of art! Please continue to read with your child at home and have your child identify the adjectives for you~
This month we will continue to build on our number skills! We have mastered our multiplication tables up to the 10's! We will begin to explore division over the next several weeks. Please continue to work with your child at home. It matters more than you know!
In December, we will be using experiments to see the cause and effect of basic elements on one another. Don't worry! There will be no chemicals involved! Our materials will consist of water, ice, and certain food products. This will be a fun (and tasty) activity that will also provide an exposure to basic fractions as we measure our materials. Look for "samples" of our work to come home with your child!
The children will be busy creating beautiful Holiday gifts with Ms. Smith this month! Please work with your child to get any requested items from home sent in to school in a timely fashion so that your gift can arrive on time!
This month your child will be singing holiday tunes and some will be preparing for the Holiday Choral Performance! If you haven't purchased a ticket for this special evening yet, do so by December 15th. Tickets are only $1/person and all proceeds go to the Children's Chorus Fund here at the school. Such a small cost for such a lovely evening!
