Ms. Garcia is a California native - she grew up in Walnut, CA. At an early age, she knew that she wanted to make an impact on this world, but she was not sure how she would accomplish her goal. Ms. Garcia credits several great teachers during her life-long learning process for her current success - in life and in the classroom.
Ms. Garcia attended the University of Dallas in Irving, TX, where she took a children's literature class and wrote a book titled "Sick Days are my Favorite Days", which she dedicated to her late grandmother, Lupe. After college, Ms. Garcia began working with Special Olympics Southern California - it was during this period that she realized her true vocation: to become an Elementary School Teacher.
Ms. Garcia is currently a teaching credential candidate through the CalState TEACH program through Cal State Fullerton. She expects to receive her multiple subject teaching credential in 2011.
Ms. Garcia loves to volunteer for Special Olympics. She also loves to read book series, such as Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings series. She also loves to swim and go to the movies. Her favorite color is purple and her birthday is in April.
