By Myself

(Inspired by Eloise Greenfield)

When I'm by myself and I close my eyes,

I'm a room full of bricks, I'm a clock that ticks

I'm a room full of money, I'm a big bowl of honey

I'm a totally cool song, I'm a big, huge, gong

I'm a kid turning 9, I'm a very tall pine

I'm a whatever I want to be, an anything I care to be

And when I open my eyes, what I care to be is...

If I Were In Charge of the World

(Inspired by Judith Viorst)

If I were in charge of the world

I'd cancel bullies, school, money, work, homework, and also

If I were in charge of the world

There'd be all things on T.V. and in stores are free and

Rocket powered skateboards.

If I were in charge of the world

You wouldn't have cousins that are girls,

You wouldn't have sisters,

Or, "Get off the laptop now!"

You wouldn't even have winter and fall.

If I were in charge of the world

Popsicles would be a fruit,

All snowcones would be a breakfast,

And a person who sometimes was mean,

And sometimes clean,

Would still be allowed to be

In charge of the world.

My Laptop

I raced downstairs and rushed to the living room, and rapidly ripped the paper off my Christmas present.  I got my laptop for Christmas, and I ran up to it and hugged it.  My face broke into a grin.  "Can I play my laptop?" I asked eagerly.  From the first day and onward I started downloading games like Runescape, Tropix 2, and 1 Mario game.  One day it broke down, so we took it to the "Geek Squad" at Best Buy.  "This will take a long time," I worried.  1 week later I got it back.  While it was gone my DS and my Wii weren't as fun as my laptop.  After that I saw my parents on it 24/7.  A few weeks later my dad made dual screens, so one side was mine, and the other was my parents.  I usually play Boxhead the Zombie Wars with Caleb and Roblax too!  Other times I play Epic Duel.  My laptop is dark blue with a Dell symbol on it, and the case is light blue and dark blue too.  It came with Wi-Fi adapters.  Sometimes it gets boring, so I go to play my Wii.  What I think will happen next will be I'll get an iPhone or iTouch and get bored of my Wii.  My laptop is special because it's mine, and I got it when I was 7 3/4, and that's young!

I raced to the car and was rushing to buckle my sister, then we were off to Shliterban!  One hour later we got there and found a spot near Cliff Hanger, and the tube ride.  Cliff Hanger is the most towering ride!  It has a 90 degree angle, and ROAR is the 2nd biggest ride.  It has a 80 degree angle.  I went down Cliff Hanger 3 times and ROAR 7.  Cliffhanger is going to be scary, I thought.  I did every single ride at least 5 times (not Cliff Hanger).  I went on the tube ride 10 times instead of 5!  My friend Caleb got there 30 minutes after we got there.  I hurried to him asked, "Can we race on the twin twister?"  We got there.  We went in the double tube.  We went in the hot chamber which is 3ft. 6in.  We didn't use the tube for 10 minutes!  After that we raced on the twin twisters, and Caleb won by 1 millisecond!  The guard timed us also.  On the Wolfpack, we were in a tube 6ft. long!  We almost flipped over in the tube!  Caleb went down Cliff Hanger 7 times.  He went 50 mph, and I went 45 mph!  We went on the tube ride again.  We went through the 10ft. tall slide, and through the waves also.  The other race ride was from 100ft. to a 10ft. pool!  Caleb and I did it.  It was so fun.  My sister did the kiddy rides, but some 5 year olds did ROAR!  Tomorrow I'm going to Shlitterban, and it'll be fun!  Before we left I asked, "Can we go next week?"  My parents laughed and said, "Maybe."  Hear is a point, always reapply sunblock and wear a shirt after you reapply for your 1st time.

Peg Kheret

Five Pages a Day was a really good book, and Peg Kheret is a very creative writer.  I wonder if Peg Kheret had some Bluebonnet Award.  Her books are as good as a video game.  She had made very good leads and chapters that kept making me read on.  She wrote lots of interesting books, and I enjoyed reading Five Pages a Day, and I read more than was assigned (don't tell anyone!).  Peg Kheret is a very awesome writer, and she's really cool!  I thought this book was interesting because she survived lots of things and never gave up.

                                                                                                 My Dsi

His slick black case is like a shadow in the night. I wonder if my case is gray instead of black. It’s like a mini computer. It’s like a really, really, really small computer. Perhaps I know when I stop playing, I’ll be hopping away to go ride my bike around the neighborhood.

The Sleepover

Crack!  Caleb hit the ball very hard, and I caught it, then it started pouring hard, so we ran to get into my house.  We were soaking wet, and we had water dripping from our hair.  We had some hot chocolate, and then we went to play my Wii.  When we were playing my Wii he asked, "Do you want to have a sleepover?"

"If my mom says yes, but at whose house?" I asked.

     "MIne, " he said.

     "Okay.  Mom!" I yelled.

     "What?" she answered.

"Can Caleb and I have a sleepover?"

     "What did Mrs. Lore say?"

"Yes," we said at the same time.

"Jinx, you owe me a soda!  Lock!" I yelled.

     "Tomorrow!" Caleb yelled.

     "Maybe," my mom said.

     "Awwwwwwwwwwww!" I complained.

     At 7:30 I asked,

     "Yes," she said.

"Whaaaaaaahhhhhhhhooooooo!" I thought.  "Let's get packin'," I said.

We stayed up until 11:45, and then we went to sleep.  The next morning we ate pancakes, made by Caleb and me.  After that we went to my house to play with my little sister named Joely, and say hi to my parents.  We played on my laptop, and we did Ds download for 30 minutes, and then we built a Lego ship one foot tall and two inches wide called the Republic Gunship!  It took two hours to build, and we re-did it twice, so it took six hours!  At the end of the day Caleb went home, and I took a nap for two hours.

The Scary Sleepover

One day Caleb said, “We could have a sleepover, if our parents said yes!” So we asked our parents if we could, and they said yes! I packed up for the sleepover, and we went to Caleb’s house this time. We stayed up until 11:15, then he went to sleep, and I didn’t. I stayed up until 11:30, because it was a stormy night, and there were weird shadows around his room, so I thought, that one of his cats was coming to claw at us, or there was a monster in his room, or an alien ship landed on his roof. I didn’t enjoy it much as usual. The next morning we had a huge breakfast. The sausages, biscuits, and fruit were delicious. What I liked the most were the strawberries. They were very juicy, and sweet. Then we went to my house, full and happy. We played on my laptop for 45 minutes. Caleb laughed so hard, because the game was so funny. My sister walked near the office, and saw us. Her face lit up like a candle. She was so happy to see Caleb and me, that she ran up to us and hugged both of us.  She looked as happy as a dog. We played with her for a while, and then played my Wii upstairs. The whole day was full of fun and laughter with my friends. We played baseball with Ethan, Vincent, and Trenton. It was Caleb and I against everyone else, and Caleb and I won! After a long day, Caleb went home, and I did too, hoping to have another sleepover next week.

Where I’m From

I’m from Russia, and it’s very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. Right now I sit at home in Texas, and waiting to go back. I’m like a Heartless kid. (Not true!) I just want to have everything my way like it was my way in Russia. If I were back in Russia It would be a lot hotter than it is in Texas. In Russia there’s lots of fools gold there also. Russia is a big state or whatever, but I’m from Russia, and I’m proud of it!

Before I Was Born

My dad worked at Siberia, where it’s very cold, and he met a 24 year old girl named Svetlana. At that same time he was building a house in the country on the Brazos River. He thought it was time to get married because he was lonely, so he asked my mom, “Will you marry me?” “Yes I will,” she said. So my dad asked if she could travel to Texas, and she did! They traveled a lot before getting married.  A few weeks later they got married, and my dad finished building the house. There were a few parks around the house. The house had a balcony and a hot tub. They also had a Great Dane, that when he stood up on his hind legs, he was as tall as my dad, but that was when I was 2 years old. If they hadn’t gotten married, I wouldn’t even be alive.

Meeting Ethan

One day I was riding my bike around the block, then I saw someone moving into a house. I wondered who could be in that house, and I wanted to find out, but my mom told me to come in for dinner. The next day Caleb came over, and brought someone that I didn’t know. He said his name was Ethan, and he just moved into the house that I passed by yesterday. He had black hair and black eyes, and was the same age as Caleb, but taller. He asked if we could get some people and race to see how fast they were, and Ethan outran all of us!      It’s always fun to play at Ethan’s house. He has a computer and legos, and he also has a pool! We went to swim at his pool for two hours, the hot tub was steaming hot, but the pool was cool. Sometimes my mom lets me stay longer because she has to run errands. I like that, because I get to spend more time with my friend. I am very glad that Ethan moved into our neighborhood. I had lots of fun with him today!

Ripley’s Believe It or Not!

Its 3-d picture looks so real, I am wondering if it will charge at me. It stays on my shelf with not even a scratch, like a protected baby. It’s just like  a book that came out from the machine that made it one minute ago. Every time I turn the page I see something weirder all the time. It’s one of my favorite books, and I enjoy it a lot!
