Read to Self ~ Students practice reading independently. They are reading at their individual reading levels and learning new reading and comprehension strategies during read to self mini lessons.
The kids are reading independently using big books, class charts, word rings, word family wheels, class books and more.
Read to Self w/ Options~
Work on Words ~ Students work on words through a variety of hands on activities that focus on rhyming, alliteration, syllabication, word families, and high frequency words.
Listen To Reading ~ Students listen to favorite books read aloud on tapes and cds. They are hearing what fluent reading sounds like as well as working on their comprehension skills.
Work on Writing ~Students work to improve their writing skills. They explore different ways in which we write. I teach them about writing lists, making cards, writingletter and writing stories.
