As you now know, I am the Social Studies/Language Arts block teacher for this group.  I plan all of my instruction to be meaningful, authentic, and memorable.  Below is the link to the standards we will be working on and mastering this year.  I teach most of my lessons integrated, meaning the students may be learning a social studies topic, but learning an element of Language Arts at the same time.

Student Favorites

This year students will participate in a writers workshop, where using all elements of Language Arts they will publish a story.  Students will also spend time on an interactive unit based on the American Revolution through simulation,engaging, and memorable activities. There will be opportunities for parents to see the work their  child has created and it is a very exciting time!

I will send out daily reminders of what is due the following day, or weekly reminders for projects through the Remind App.  If you can not access the app please email me and I will send you a copy email of what I am sending out so you can stay in the loop.  I also encourage the students to get the app as they should be responsible for their work.

I also suggest getting familiar with the Khan Academy website.  Khan is a great tool for homework help and to further understanding on any topic. I am more than willing to help each and every student, but sometimes it is nice to hear the information from a different source. It is free to sign up, and has a ton of great information.
