Ms.Yongue's Kindergarten

Important Reminders
  •  August 25- 1st day of school
I am so excited about having your child in my class for this important first year of their educational career!  Each day will be exciting, enjoyable and a learning experience.  Kindergarten is a time for your child to learn about themselves and about the world around them.  Our plans are to involve your child in various activities such as children’s literature, math, music, dramatic play, social activities and much more!  Reading is a huge part of the Kindergarten Curriculum, meaning that tons of books will be read during class, used in small groups and even sent home for your child to read with you.  Please take this opportunity to sit down with your child and read with them. Your participation in your child’s education contributes a lot to their success.
Throughout Kindergarten, many themes will be discussed such as safety, animals, pumpkins, and there will even be a Christmas around the world celebration.  The theme your child will start the year off with is the, “All about me,” unit.  This will give your child the opportunity to express who they are to the class, helping us to grow as a community in the classroom.  I feel that parent involvement is valuable to your child’s success so you will be receiving information throughout the year to help keep you informed. This information will include our parent/teacher contact sheet, a weekly newsletter, progress reports, updates on this website and any other information that will help you to stay informed about your child’s school career.     I am truly excited about this year and look forward to working with you and your child on this fantastic adventure through Kindergarten.  Together, we will allow your child to reach the highest limits.
