African Instrument Project

I created this rubric for a 3rd grade power point project on African instruments.  In groups, students are to research a selected African instrument, write notes about that instrument and then put together a power point presentation reflecting what they learned about that instrument.  This rubric will give them direction in what they will be graded on throughout the project.

Research Students will use a minimum of 4 resources to find information specific to their instrument. Attractiveness Makes excellent use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. to enhance the presentation. Makes good use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. to enhance to presentation. Makes use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. but occasionally these detract from the presentation content. Originality Product shows a large amount of original thought. Ideas are creative and inventive. Students use slides other than the default slide and rearranges text. Presentation Well-rehearsed with smooth delivery that holds audience attention. All students involved participate in presentation and time is divided evenly. Delivery not smooth, but able to maintain interest of the audience most of the time. Only 2 students participate in presentation and time in not divided evenly. Delivery not smooth and audience attention often lost. Only 1 student participates in presentation.
Workload The workload is divided and shared equally by all team members. The workload is divided and shared fairly by all team members, though workloads may vary from person to person. The workload was divided, but one person in the group is viewed as not doing his/her fair share of the work. The workload was not divided OR several people in the group are viewed as not doing their fair share of the work.
