HW# 18: Choose a character from the play you feel would benefit from therapy. Write a dialogue between that character and the therapist. It must be at least 2 sides of looseleaf. If you choose a character that died by the end of the play be sure to use onl information up to the person's demise...no ghosts in the therapist's office! 

HW# 17:

Use Acts 1-4 only. Imagine you are either Othello or Desdemona. Write a letter to a newspaper advice columnist about the problems in his/her marriage and then ask for help. EC--write the advice columnist's response.

OR

Create a poem or draw a picture that you feel appropriately depicts the feelings of Othello, Desdemona or both at the end of Act 4. EC--write a poem and draw a pic.

HW# 16: In your notebook create a Venn Diagram or write 2-3 paragraphs to completely compare and contrast poetry, plays and novels.

 HW# 15: Review of Othello. In your notebook, explain in your notebook how the play is a tragedy in at least 2 paragraphs. (Reminder a paragraph is 5-7 sents.) 

HW# 14:  Read Othello, Act 5. In your notebook answer the following questions. Be sure to use references to the text in your answers.

  1. Which characters are injured? How are they injured?
  2. Which characters die? How does each die?
  3. Ultimately, how is Iago responsible for all the injuries and deaths?

HW# 13:  Read Othello, Act 4. In your notebook answer the following questions. Be sure to use references to the text in your answers.

  1. How is Othello treating Desdemona badly? Why is he treating her this way?
  2. How does Emilia try to defend Desdemona?
  3. Why is Iago responsible for the condition of Othello and Desdemona's relationship?

HW# 11:  Read Othello, Act 3. In your notebook answer the following questions. Be sure to use references to the text in your answers.

  1. What does Iago tell Othello about Descdemona and Cassio that upsets Othello?
  2. Why is the hankerchief Desdemona drops so special?
  3. Why does Emilia give the hankerchief to Iago?
  4. Who has the hankerchief at the end of act? How did that person get it?

 HW# 10: Read Othello, Act 2, scene 3. In your notebook explain why Cassion is fired as Othello's lieutenant and whether or not you think it was a fair punishment or not. Be sure to use references to the text in your answer.

HW# 7: In your notebook "tanslate" the following passages from Shakespeare's language into contemporary language. Fold you page in half and write the lines exactly from the play in the left column and then your translation in the right column next to each.
