Current Project: Short Stories!

You are to write TWO (2) SHORT STORIES using NARRATIVE FICTION WRITING.

STORY 1: REALISTIC FICTION. A short story about problems and characters that can be found in everyday life. 

STORY 2: SUPERNATURAL OR FANTASY FICTION. A short story including characters and events that involve magic or other supernatural forces. This story can be horror.

Please keep your stories' tones and topics school appropriate.

The SETTING of both stories is up to you.
The MOOD of both stories is up to you.
You must have AT LEAST THREE CHARACTERS per STORY.
You must include FIVE INSTANCES OF DIALOGUE per STORY.

Project Requirements:

The stories MUST be TYPED and PRINTED OUT. I WILL NOT accept a digital copy of your project.
Font Type: Times New Roman.
Font Size: 12 pt. font.
Line Spacing: Double spaced.
Page Length: AT LEAST THREE FULL PAGES (PER STORY). Your stories will need a TITLE PAGE. This will NOT count towards your page length requirement.

Rough Drafts of the stories are required.

Timeline:

Story Assigned: Tuesday, September 10th.
In-Class Idea Drafting and Feedback: Friday, September 20th.
IN-CLASS PROJECT DAY: Tuesday, September 24th.
IN-CLASS PROJECT DAY: Thursday, September 26th.

In-Class Peer Editing & Writing Conferences: Monday, September 30th.
In-Class Writer's Cafe & Publishing Day: Wednesday, October 2nd.

Due Dates:

Idea Drafts are DUE Friday, September 20th.
Rough Drafts are DUE Monday, September 30th.
Final Drafts are DUE Wednesday, October 2nd.
