Dear Parents,
I welcome you to my classroom and hope that it will be a rewarding and memorable year. I would like to share with you some information about myself so that you will feel as if you know, somewhat, the person who is teaching and caring for your child this year.
My name is Mrs. Pam Lonon. I am married with identical twin daughters, one dog, and six horses. My daughters are entering Third Grade here at Desert Mountain this year. I am excited to get the opportunity to teach Kindergarten Enrichment this year.
I earned my Bachelor and Master’s Degrees at Northern Arizona University. I believe that teaching is one of the most rewarding professions. I enjoy children and believe my job is to provide the instruction, materials, atmosphere, and guidance for your child to develop to his/her fullest potential academically and socially.
You, as parents are the most important adults in your child’s life. You know your child’s strengths and feelings of inadequacy. You can be a tremendous source of information for me and an invaluable extension of support for your child’s education at home. My desire is that we work together in guiding your child’s development this year.
My goal this year is to keep you informed about your child’s progress. I am always open to questions and suggestions from you, and I encourage you to share any information that might help me to better understand your child. The best ways to reach me are email, notes, or phone calls. I will respond to your email, notes, or phone calls as soon as possible.

RECIPE FOR A SUCCESSFUL YEAR
Start with one smiling teacher. Add a classroom full of children. Sprinkle with respect and understanding. Add a generous amount of praise, a bucket full of love, and just the right amount of discipline. Mix well and allow to simmer for 176 school days. Garnish generously with good parent teacher communication.
