Welcome to Kindergarten at Luttrell Elementary School! My name is Mrs. Kari Reynolds and I am delighted to be your child’s teacher this year. Kindergarten is a time of new beginnings, of making friends, and of learning lots of new things each and every day. This is my fifth year of teaching and I am very excited about this school year. I know that Kindergarten can be an apprehensive time for both the child and the parent. However, I will do my very best to make this transition an easy one and promise to create a positive learning environment for your child. Our days and weeks will be filled with many wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing. The Kindergarten program at LES is full day (8:15-3:15). The days of playing, napping, and coloring in Kindergarten are long gone. Although we still incorporate playing and coloring, we have intense academic standards and expectations that we must meet this year. For this reason, I would like to challenge each of you to take an active part in your child’s education by volunteering at the school or in the classroom, reading to/with your child every day, reviewing weekly work, and being a positive influence throughout this year. Your child’s success not only depends on what we do at school, but also what you do at home. I hope that we can work together to ensure the success of your child. Feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns at any time. I look forward to a remarkable year!
