Extra Credit Opportunity

Turn your Energy Transformation Project in this week before Friday for 5 points of extra credit added to your score. 

 

OVERVIEW: In our energy transformation project this month, we will be using what we learn about energy transformation and energy transfer to make an energy transfer website, informational poster, or web infographic to illustration the energy chain involved with their group's topic. Individual grades will be based on the scientific accuracy of the group's creation, how well the group workds together, how much time is spent on the project and how clearly the group's creation gets the idea across to others. Feel free to get creative with your product, you are not limited to an infographic, poster or website. Some other ideas are a story book, brochure, or song!

POINTS: This is a 50 Point Project, in addition to the points on the rubric, you will be graded with an extra 10 points based on the effort your group members agree that you have been accountable for. 

DUE DATE: FEBRUARY 19th - No late assignments will be accepted, unless an excused absence is recorded in the school absence log, in such a case, the student must submit his or her project on the day he/she returns to school. 

GROUPS and TOPICS will be assigned on January 9th and 10th respectively.

1. Using what you have learned about energy transformation and energy transfer, make an energy chain that traces the path of energy from a hydroelectric power plant and right through your television. Be sure to include all the forms of energy involved and the transfers that take place.

Be sure to include all the forms of energy involved and the transfers that take place

Be sure to include all the forms of energy involved and the transfers that take place.

 

8. Using what you have learned about energy transformation and energy transfer, make an energy chain that follows the actions you take beginning when you wake up in the morning to the time you sit down in first period. Tracing the path of energy starting at the sun, to your alarm clock/phone and all processes until 1st period. Be sure to include all the forms of energy involved and the transfers that take place.
