+Simple Addition and Subtraction problems.
up to 6 + 6 = 12; and 12 - 6 = 6
Start with adding or subtracting 1 or 2 digits.
As your child becomes more confident and successful,
challenge them with harder problems. In time, they will
recall answer rather than use their fingers, etc.
+Children need to be able to identify coins and know their value.
pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, half dollars
+Math number words to know:
one two three four five six seven eight
nine ten eleven twelve
+Color words to recognize:
red blue yellow purple green orange
black brown white pink
+ Practice drawing with your child. This is a great developmental
exercise for young children. Encourage them to make drawings
as realistic as possible. They should start to notice more details,
like arms, legs, fingers, feet instead of sticks. Encourage the use
of realistic color.
+ The children are memorizing their home phone number and their
home address. It is important for their safety. Please review
it with them. Make it fun. It may take a little time but with
practice, they will be successful!
+I copied the prayers that the children will be saying this year. They
are in the Red Folder. Encourage prayers at meal time and bedtime.
God listens to all our prayers.
Thanks for your help.
