ABOUT ME [Scott R Schweitzer]
I am currently the District Technology Resource Teacher & Integration Specialist for Spencer County Schools in Taylorsville, KY. Our school district has approximately 3000 students K-12 and is comprised of a pre-school, two elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and an alternative school. I support all of these schools with Instructional Technology professional development opportunities in large group, small group, or individually as requested.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Teaching (Math & Social Studies) from Eastern Kentucky University and taught both content specialities at the 7th and 8th grade levels. During my time as a Classroom Teacher I invested a lot of personal time and financial resources towards integrating technology in my classes. I experienced first hand the difference that technology can make to engage students and enhance the learning process.
I completed my Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Morehead State University. This degree helped me to further develop my understanding of the pedagogical changes needed in order to effective utilize technology as a classroom tool.
I am currently working on my second Masters in School Administration which should be completed in the 2013-14 school year. I intend to continue my studies towards a Doctorate in Educational Technology once my current studies are complete.
