About Me

Hi!  My name is Stephanie Echevarria and I will be your child’s second grade teacher this year!  I am so excited for this upcoming school year. This year, 2E is going to be filled with lots of excitement, learning, new challenges and adventures.  I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us and to get to know you, but first, I am going to tell you a little about myself.

Although I was born in Washington D.C., I grew up in Palisades Park, NJ, where I remained until my late twenties.  On October 18, 2013 I got married and moved to Mine Hill, where I currently live with my husband Orlando, our daughter Rose Liona, and our 2 miniature schnauzers, Hughie and Ozzy.  On December 26 of last year, our daughter Rose was born! I have spent the last 8 months taking care of my baby girl and loving every minute of the precious time we have spent together.

I attended William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ and earned a B.A. in Psychology.  I earned my Elementary Teaching Certification for grades K-6 through a Post BA program at The College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ. This will be my 5th year teaching second grade. I began teaching as a student teacher with a second grade class at Passaic Arts & Science Charter School in Passaic, NJ in January 2011.  I was hired as a full time second grade teacher for the 2011-2012 school year.  While I had a great experience the last 4 years teaching at PASCS, I am very excited to begin my new journey here at Nixon Elementary School. I look forward to getting to know your child and you and working with your both throughout the school year.

I am so excited to be your teacher and for you to be a part of the awesome all-star class in Room 7. Please do not hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns: sechevarria@roxbury.org
