Let's Help Our Environment!
In an effort to help our environment we will be recycling all year. We can only make this a big success with the help of our parents. We ask that you bring in plastic bags and cans for recycling. Their is a place for each item located in our hallway. Thanks for your help. We will use any funds received from this to enhance your child's classroom. Thanks again and let's challenge ourselves to do the best.
"In helping others, we shall help ourselves, for whatever good we give out completes the circle and comes back to us" Flora Edwards
During the year we will be doing fundraisers, collections of different items, and aking for your help. We want to help the less fortunate in our community as well as around the Southeast.
Throughout the entire year we will be collecting two things; Can tabs and spare change.
Can Tabs: The tabs will be donated to the Ronald McDonald house at the end of the year, we will be keeping a running total of how much you have donated and you will be able to see this in the hallway. Help us make a difference in the life of a child and their family.Spare Change: We will be doing something that we call "Change for a Cure." We are asking that you donate any spare change that you have in your pockets each day. At the end of the year we are going to donate our spare change to the St. Judes Childrens Hospital. This is a cause that no one can put a price on. We never want to see children sick but also know that it does happen. We are thankful that it is not one of our own but feel deeply for the families who must go through such a difficult process.
During Thanksgiving we will be collecting nonperishable foods for the needy. We tend to get wrapped up in our family festivities and forget about the families who are not as fortunate to have a table full of food on this special holiday. We understand that you spend lots of time and money on your family; We are not asking you to provide a full meal, only a simple ingredient that will help a family enjoy their holiday. The more you give, the more you receive.
During Christmas we are providing you with a challenge. We challenge each family to bring in two unopened and unwrapped toys for "Toys for Tots" If each family brings in two toys we can help provide forty children with a toy to open at Christmas. These can be toys from the dollar store or toys that you have never opened at home and have no use for it. Christmas is such a magical time of the year for so many families. We would like to help make a little magic for a handful of families who otherwise would have no magic at this time of the year.
We understand that the economy is in a hardship, we also understand that times are a lot harder than they were last year or the year before. We are very fortunate to be able to give our children and families a little magic during these times, please, we ask of you to think about the families who need the help of others. Let's be their angels.
**If we have a family in our classroom or center that would benefit from the help of these drives, we will help them first.**
The purpose of life is not to be happy - but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all. ~Leo Rosten
