EGG DROP CONTEST

We will be hosting an egg drop contest for 5th-8th grades on Tuesday, May 21, at 2:00, and parents are welcome to attend!  Each student will be designing a contraption that they can put a raw egg in, drop it from the balcony, and have the egg emerge uncracked.  Students are allowed to use any materials they wish, but I am asking that they are common, household materials that anybody has laying around the house.

They will be constructing these at home and bringing them in by

Monday, May 20.  I will bring in the eggs, so please leave contraption opened up without an egg in it, and send the materials needed (such as duct tape, etc...) to finish and seal it off. (Take note that they will only have about 5-10 minutes to work on sealing it off, so the majority of the construction has to be completed ahead of time.)  Please do not feel you have to go shopping or spend any money on this.  Some suggested materials are:  shoeboxes, cotton balls, kleenex, rubber bands, saran wrap, tin foil, old terry-cloth towels, toy parachute, yarn, sponges, rubber, newspaper, etc.  Feel free to email me if you have any questions:  sharine@gracechristianvisalia.org
