Week of September 16-20
This week students will continue to learn about the legal issues and practices of healthcare providers. Our unit test covering this material will be Thursday, 9/19.
We have finished medical abbreviations and will have our first medical terminology lesson this week. Hold on to your hats because this is fast and challenging! Students will probably feel a bit overwhelmed at first but will get the hang of how it works after a few weeks. If they continue into the healthcare field, medical terms will be a part of their daily lives so it is well worth their time.
Tutoring and test recovery is available for any student who fails a unit test. Tutoring times (test corrections) are availabe at least 2 mornings and 2 afternoons each week. The schedule is posted in the classroom each Monday. Test recovery is open for two weeks after I return each test and then that window of opportunity closes. Additionally, I do not offer extra credit at the end of the semester, so please be aware that Test Recovery is the best option for improving grades throughout the semester.
Canvas is the place to find class unit lecture notes, study guides, the textbook, and unit assignments.
