Lower School Science Extra Credit Assignment- CAREER
The assignment is designed for fourth and fifth students to research a science-related career. Different careers are featured throughout the textbook. Students should choose a career (that interests them) and then read information about the career. The information can be found in a library book, encyclopedia, or an internet site. The source or sources must be listed on the report. The one page report should be written or typed in the student’s own words after reading information from a book, internet, etc. The report can be worth up to 10 points. I might ask the student to share with the class a few things that they learned about their career. After doing a report, if the student wants to earn more points, he/she can make a poster about that career. This can be worth an additional 10 points. Students can earn a maximum of 20 extra credit points per nine weeks.
The report should include:
- duties of the career
- required education and training
- specific location to live to do that career
