2011-2012 Welcome Letter
Dear Parent(s)/ Guardian(s):
I am sending this letter home with your child today to give you some information about myself and as I have informed the students to give “you” your homework assignment for this week. First let me tell you a little about myself.
This is my 3rd year as a Spanish teacher here at Suitland High School. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Foreign Languages (concentration in Spanish and Italian) with a minor in Art History from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. I recently graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a Master’s of Education degree with a concentration in Educational Policy & Leadership. My professional goal is to ensure that ALL children have equal access to a quality education.
I have found in the past that as long as I have parental support, everything runs smoothly. To do that I need your help and what I would like you to do for your “home work” this week is to email me and leave me a message with the following information:
- Your child’s full name
- Your full name
- The best way to contact you
- Any other information you wish to share that may help us in providing a productive year for your child.
If you complete this assignment your child will receive extra credit points toward their homework grade. My information is as follows. However, I must recommend that E-Mail is the quickest and most convenient way to reach me.
Name: Señor Keith Downing
Room #: 108
Class website: suitlandspanish.educatorpages.com
I encourage you to check out the Spanish website for this class where students and parents can find information about the class, important updates, and homework assignments.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
