About Me

"The best way to predict your future is to create it."  - Abraham Lincoln

My name is Heather Ramsey and I teach 2nd grade at Neptune Elementary.  This is my third year teaching in Osceola County and I have experience in nearly every elementary grade level.  I am married to my husband, James, and we have two young boys, James and Anthony.

I graduated from UCF with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with ESOL and Reading endorsements, and I am certified to teach grades K-6.  I frequently engage in professional development throughout the school year and during summers to further my learning and expertise.  I am always looking for ways to help my students become successful.  I am a strong believer in teaching students real-life skills and making connections between the learning standards and students' lives.  I also believe that students learn best when they are involved in hands-on, inquiry-based, and collaborative activities and try to provide these opportunities regularly in my classroom.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy walking and doing anything in nature -- the beach, the woods, rivers, lakes, anywhere!  I also love animals, writing, cooking, and spending time playing games with my family.
