Lesson 4: Round Numbers. Objective: To round whole numbers to a given place value.

Vocabulary: compare, place value, order, round

**compare:** to describe whether a number is equal to, less than, or greater than anothe number

**place value:** the value of a digit in a number, based on its position

**order: **to describe which of a set of numbers is the greatest, which is the least, and where the others fall between them based on their values

**round:** to replace a number with another number that tells about how many or how much

Mark the place. Look to the right. 4 or less are out of sight. 5 and up will buy one more before they too are out the door. In those empty right-hand spaces, zeros keep the proper places.
