Video Production 1 preferred prerequisite Photography 1, but not mandated at this time.
Video production is a vigorous course and requires you to video tape yourself. During the trimester we will work daily and weekly on the Daily/Weekly Moose News! It will be viewed by all staff and students.
Daily/Weekly Moose News (Teams assigned!)
Each week(daily news) there will five students that will record the daily news. You will record on Fridays and post to the google drive shared folder named High School Daily news. You must rename the movie with a date and day once it is in the google folder. You will rotate on a daily schedule with Ms. Kill as it will be posted on a calendar.
You must use the cnn report template(i Movie). The audio will be broadcast news long.
The audio should run only 1.2 seconds
The lunch title bar should run for 27 seconds or ends just before the end of the newscast.
The header title should run around 7.9 seconds.
Weekly News you will create a news team that will report a weekly newscast. Ms. Kill will set up the teams. You can create your own template or use one set in imovie.
You should have: weather, sports(mlwr) and news( national and local). Think about the clothes your wearing, props for the desk, backgrounds, titles, and credit of news cast team.
It should include transitions, audio and green screen and CREATIVITY & ORIGINALITY.

Assignment 2 Photo album versus movie
Create a photo album of pictures from home using the effects from I Movie. ALL LESSONS WILL HAVE A STORY BOARD PRIOR TO YOU RECORDING OR WORKING IN I MOVIE. This is worth half your grade per lesson.

You will create a 30 second commercial of a current product. You will need that product to use in the commercial. All videos must be pre-approved with a your story board. You will need to set up actors in advance and reserve the green room if necessary. ALL LESSONS WILL HAVE A STORY BOARD PRIOR TO YOU RECORDING OR WORKING IN I MOVIE. This is worth half your grade per lesson.
Assignment 4: Movie Trailer
You will create a short video by the way of stop motion. Storyboard and materials need to be ready. This takes time and reserving the actors or green is expected. This is another format in creating animation. You will use a digital camera, turn off autofocus and you must use a tripod. ALL LESSONS WILL HAVE A STORY BOARD PRIOR TO YOU RECORDING OR WORKING IN I MOVIE. This is worth half your grade per lesson.
Assignment 5: Historical Lesson
You will find a building that has some history. Take pictures and report back to the class your lesson. You will be the teacher! The facts o nthe buidling should be as true as possible. This may take some research into it! You are thereproter so you will be talking. You can interveiw a person who knows about the building.
Graded: Title, credits, transitions, music, add the feature of old filters. Add questions or dates into the clip

1. If pictures are showing up black they are too large! Go to Iphoto, select all, then go to file menu choose exprot 1 photo, click on the down arrow and choose
2. To remove the Ken Burns effect during stop motion.
3. On video camera must save the photos to the sd card and then use Ms. Kill's computer to import. They don't read with the card reader.
4. If you don't bring in your picture first, for your background on your green screen will not work. Here is how to resolve this. You move your movie to another clip and then bring in the picture. Then move the green screen video backover the picture This will allow for green screen.
- For images smaller than 640 X 480, , iMovie will add a black border.
- Zooming an image smaller than 640 X 480 will show marked graininess.
- Images in jpg, jpeg, gif, tiff, or pict formats (some pict images do not work well) can be imported.
- While any size image can be imported, images in landscape mode, at least 640 x 480 pixels in size work best
