Emergency Procedures

Bus Safety: 

In the Spring, the students will participate in a bus safety presentation where they will have the opportunity to learn all about the rules to riding the bus to and from school and will be taught how to respond in case of an emergency.

 

Responding to a fire drill: 

In any circumstance that there is a fire drill the students are expected to follow these steps.

  • Set down the things in your hands.

 

  • Quickly and quietly head out of the classroom and down the stairs towards the front doors.
  • Last one out of the classroom, close the door quietly.

  • Walk quickly to your assigned area.

 

  • Turn and face the building, get into an ABC line quickly.
  • Stand in a 3H’s line (Heads, Hands, Hush) and listen for directions.

 

Responding to a Tornado drill: 

  • Set down the things in your hands.

  • Quickly and quietly head out of the classroom and down the stairs.

 

  • Last one out the classroom close the door quietly.
  • Carefully sit down and cover your head in a crouching position in the hallway.
  • Silently wait for your teacher’s directions.
