Important Dates

Birthdays

On your child’s birthday they are invited to wear a birthday hat and be celebrated through song.

If you feel the need to celebrate your child here at school, please consider celebrating with non-edible items.  For example, your child could bring a bracelet, pencil, or other small toy for all classmates.  Another option is sending your child’s favorite book to school for a class read aloud.  I would love to have this opportunity to celebrate your child and get to know about their interests.  If you would like to celebrate with a special treat that is wonderful too; however, it must be store bought and respect allergy warnings in our classroom.  In kindergarten we may be a little nuts, but not with what we eat.

Please do not to bring treats that contain peanuts or tree nuts!

Halloween

It is a tradition here at Lena Whitmore for the Kindergarten students to have a Halloween parade through the school.  Only Kindergarten students get this privilege.  Please make sure your child’s costume is school appropriate and does not contain any weapon accessories.

Harvest Party

Prior to Thanksgiving break we host a dinner to show our father's how thankful we are for all they do.  Students cook and serve their fathers lunch right here in our classroom.

Winter Party

I would like to plan a Winter Party with parent input.  Updates will be posted about this celebration later.

Valentines Party

I would like to plan a Valentines Party with parent input.  Updates will be posted about this celebration later.

Celebration Guidelines

Please limit the amount of sweets brought into the classroom.  When planning parties I like to have one treat and a few healthy options.

Please do not to bring treats that contain peanuts or tree nuts!
