Hello! My name is William Helms and I am looking forward to working with you and your child this school year. This is my eleventh year teaching, all at College Lakes, and my first year teaching fourth grade. I am very excited to work with a new grade level, and have experience teaching first, second, and third grades.
I graduated from Methodist (College) University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and also have a Master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in Physical Education with a concentration in Sports Administration. When I'm not teaching, you can probably find me back at Methodist coaching cross country and track.
I have been married for four years to Becky, who is a Physical Therapist with the Cape Fear Valley Health system. We have a daughter named Madison who just turned one at the beginning of August, and two cats, Olive and Abby.
