About the Teacher

My name is Mrs. Wendy Vasey and I love teaching  8th grade English.  This is my 14th year of teaching and I have a very diversified resume.  I began my teaching career in the School District of Philadelphia after graduating from Temple University.  I spent 6 years in Philadelphia teaching 8th grade Reading, English, and Science.  For 6 years, I taught Learning Support.  For 3 years, I was the Coordinator of Special Education and taught at the Bear Creek Charter School.  I spent a year working for the Intermediate Unit as a Learning Support Teacher at the Wilkes-Barre Career and Technical Center (Vo-tech.)  Finally, the last 2 of those years were spent at Northwest teaching Elementary Learning Support.

My husband and I are the proud parents of three children; aged 14, 13, and 11.  We have many pets in our household. They include a puppy, a cat, a bearded dragon,  and a beta fish.  We love to be outdoors; hiking, camping, and fishing.  We spent an incredible 18 days out west a few  summers ago visiting the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier, the Big Horn Mountains, the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, and the Badlands to name a few places.  In my spare time, I like to read, sew, cross stitch, and scrapbook.
