Goals and Objectives

Areas of study for Spanish 1A and 1B courses: Grammar, Vocabulary, Translations, Punctuation, Oral Presentations,      Culture/History Literature 

I. DESCRIPTION: This course focuses on the development of written and oral communication skills.     

    1) Giving oral information, instruction, directions, explanations and messages;
    2) Writing in Spanish and translating from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.
II.COURSE OBJECTIVES: After successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
    1. Organize sentences and paragraphs in logical order.
    2. Write essays on given topics of approximately 50 words.
    3. Take dictation emphasizing accents and punctuation and w
rite personal letters.
III. CULTURAL ASPECTS: Study the geography and history of the different Spanish-speaking communities.
